Gaming Attribution That Proves ROI
Game publishers measure true incrementality, LTV drivers, and cross-platform players. No attribution fraud. No data silos.
The Gaming Attribution Crisis
Ad networks claim credit for organic players. Publishers can't see which channels drive lifetime revenue. Cross-platform players remain invisible. Attribution fraud costs the industry billions.
Attribution Fraud
Ad networks claim credit for organic installs. Publishers overspend $5M on truly incremental channels. No way to verify.
LTV Blindness
Lowest-cost channels drive worst players. Publishers optimize for install volume, not revenue. CPI down 40%, LTV down 80%.
Cross-Platform Blind Spots
Console and mobile players are siloed. Publishers can't identify 35% of players who play both. Cross-platform campaigns fail.
5 Use Cases Multiplying Publisher Revenue
Real scenarios where game publishers uncover hidden incrementality, player value, and monetization upside.
Cross-Publisher Player Overlap
Scenario
Two game publishers each have 100K players but don't know how many players own both games. Overlapping players represent 28K potential cross-promotion targets—but neither publisher can identify them without sharing raw player databases, creating privacy and competitive concerns. Without overlap visibility, both publishers waste ad spend targeting already-captured users instead of focusing on incremental acquisition. Cross-promotion campaigns are unsegmented sprays, not precision messaging to non-overlapping segments.
How Placino Enables It
Publisher A uploads hashed player IDs (using HMAC-SHA256 on device ID + email hash) with engagement metrics (DAU, LTV, churn rate). Publisher B does the same. Placino applies Private Set Intersection (PSI) to find matching player cohorts—WITHOUT revealing which individual players are in both games. Result: anonymized overlap count ("28K players found in both cohorts") + aggregate traits of overlap ("68% DAU, $12 average LTV"). Each publisher then receives encrypted segment IDs for cross-promotion targeting. Campaigns are sent via these encrypted IDs—neither publisher learns identities, and players remain completely anonymous to each other's systems. Conversion tracking uses federated attribution: "Offer shown → Install" counted without centralizing install data. Zero raw player data crosses company boundaries.

Visual Flow
Venn diagram: Publisher A players (100K) overlap Publisher B players (100K) = 28K shared. Cross-promote to non-overlapping segments.
Key Insight
PSI revealed 28K overlapping players and 72K non-overlapping in each publisher's base. Cross-promotion campaigns targeting non-overlapping segments achieved 4.2x ROAS. Privacy-first matching unlocked partnership revenue without exposing player identities.
